Tawny Kitaen passed away on May 7, 2021, and fans have been mourning her passing on social media ever since. As the public continues to share their tributes and offer their condolences, one close friend of Tawny’s (real name Julie Kitaen) has offered her own, heartfelt tribute and memories of the beautiful, redhead who starred opposite Tom Hanks in the hilarious comedy Bachelor Party. Releasing her own tribute, “Red” revealed that she and Tawny were as close as sisters and had been friends for decades. She also stated that Tawny was embarking upon wonderful new endeavors in her life and her death came suddenly and shocking to those who knew and loved her most.

While speculation continues to rise about Tawny’s cause of death, her brother, Jordon Kitaen, spoke to TMZ and said he believes she died from a broken heart after losing her hero — her father, Terry Kitaen on April 12, 2021. Speaking to TMZ, Jordan Kitaen said he thinks Tawny’s body couldn’t handle her father’s loss. Terry Kitaen’s funeral was set for just days after Tawny’s untimely passing.

Jordan also said Tawny was planning to spend Mother’s Day with her two daughters: Wynter Finley and Raine Finley, whom she shared with ex-husband MLB pitcher Chuck Finley. Though she was heartbroken over the loss of her dad, Jordan says Tawny was looking forward to Mother’s Day and excited to spend the time with her girls.

Wynter and Raine left a public tribute to their mother on her official Instagram site. It reads as follows.

We are heartbroken and saddened to announce the death of our mom. We just want to say thank you for all of you, her fans and her friends, for always showing her such love and support. You gave her life every day. We miss her and love her and we know her legacy will live on forever. — Wynter and Raine.
