Melvin saves most of the NOFX tracks and writes guitar riffs for the NOFX tracks, like the intro to "Leave It Alone". His vocal style is symbolically called "Mel Yell". He is also a founding member of Punk Rock Karaoke alongside Steve Soto and Greg Hetson, although he rarely performs with them. Melvin is an occasional touring member of Me First and Gimme Gimmes plays bass without Fat Mike.
