Dale Egan has become one of Australia’s biggest adult film stars.
The 31-year-old is in the top 0.2 per cent of influencers on OnlyFans, with his racy content earning him the very attractive sum of almost 1 million a year.
However, life for the popular Gold Coast entertainer looked very different just a few years ago after having spent time jail for a home invasion.
Dale said he was suffering from depression — and that, combined with his drug use, led him down a deep, dark black hole.
“When I was a teenager I started to rebel a lot. Combined with drug use, I started doing a lot of things you’re not supposed to,” the 31-year-old told the Daily Mail.
“I was hanging out with different people, then I started working in security and was thinking I was really tough.”
He said that despite having a good upbringing thanks to his “great mum” he struggled with depression and his mental health sent him spiralling out of control.
In 2015, Dale was arrested for home invasion and sentenced to four-and-a-half years behind bars.
He said one of the toughest parts of his experience wasn’t so much prison itself, but missing out on key family events — and also finding meaning after leaving jail.
He explained that just 12 months ago he was struggling to make ends meet.
“I was making a few mistakes when I first got out. Just last Christmas I was dead broke for four months, borrowing money to pay rent and put fuel in the car,” Dale told the publication.
After trying to figure out what exactly he wanted to do, he thought why not try OnlyFans — particularly as his love life “hasn’t been that great anyway”.
Dale started out by slowly building his social media presence and after just a few months he managed to gain a huge following, adding that TikTok really helped his career skyrocket.
He used the platform to post scenes of his role play videos which in turn helped boost subscriptions on OnlyFans.
“We have complete control over the content. It’s a lot of fun, the women I work with are great,” he said.
“Most of us have consent forms and get regular tests, it’s very safe.”

Dale said his family and friends have also been supportive of his racy new career.
“As long as I’m not involved in crime they’re happy with it,” he said.
The 31-year-old, who now lives in a five-bedroom apartment, said he is “so grateful and blessed” to be given a second lease on life, adding that jail “humbled me a lot”.
