He directed the 2014 Malayalam-language coming-of-age romantic comedy film Ohm Shanthi Oshaana, starring Nazriya Nazim, Nivin Pauly, Renji Panicker, and Aju Varghese. For this, Jude Anthany Joseph received multiple accolades including the Kerala Film Critics Association Award for “Best Debutant Director”, Best Film with Popular Appeal and Aesthetic Value Award, and Mohan Raghvan Memorial Award for “Best Script”.
In 2014, he legally changed his name to “Jude Anthany Joseph” due to his affinity towards Jude the Apostle (one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus according to the New Testament).
He brought to life the character of Dolly D’Cruz in the Malayalam-language coming-of-age romance film Premam in 2015. The film stars Nivin Pauly and Sai Pallavi in lead roles.
In April 2017, Jude Anthany Joseph was arrested for verbally abusing a woman mayor and was later released on bail.
Following his Facebook post about a popular woman actor in December 2017, he received widespread criticism for the misogynistic tone of the post.

Based on the severe 2018 Kerala floods, the film became the highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time and was selected by the Film Federation of India as India’s official entry for “Best International Feature Film” at the 96th Academy Awards on September 27, 2023.
