Considering Michael B Jordan is currently one of the biggest actors in Hollywood at the moment, there’s no question that Mr. Jordan has a lot of options for work these days. The actor recently came out to say he had a specific goal in mind when it comes to making films.

During a recent conversation with Time Magazine, Jordan said to the outlet that he wanted all of his roles to promote the idea of justice, “as a whole.” On Tuesday, Jordan celebrated being on Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People list.

Jordan said whenever he looks at all of the “strength and solidarity,” it makes him strive to be a better person and to work much harder at his goals. Michael says he’s comfortable working hard so that other people who come after him can “stand on his shoulders” to be a “little bit taller.”

Thus far in his film career, Jordan has characterized the virtue of justice in movies, including when he appeared in the 2013 movie, Fruitvale Station, which told the story of Oscar Grant, who was killed by a BART police officer in Oakland, California, on New Year’s Day in 2009.

Furthermore, Jordan recently appeared in the movie, Just Mercy, as the defense lawyer, Bryan Stevenson, who fought to appeal the conviction of Walter McMillian, who was reportedly put behind bars unjustly. Critics of the case purport to describe it as an example of the injustice and corruption within the US prison system.

Reportedly, the next movie Jordan will appear in is Without Remorse, which is the Amazon adaption of the 1993 Tom Clancy book, which will explore his time as a US Navy Seal who goes on a mission to solve the murder of his wife.

Earlier this year, Jordan was in the headlines when he was one of the first actors to shout out to Megan Thee Stallion amid her controversy involving Tory Lanez.
