Moran Health Care Group co-founder Greta Moran has sold one of the upper north shore’s grandest estates in a secret deal.
The landmark Redleaf Estate occupies four titles and sold for $8 million to Leesa and Paul Fitzgerald.
CoreLogic reveals the purchase was broken down into $5.8 million for the house and $2.2 million for the three other titles forming the property.

It marks the first time Redleaf has changed hands since the Moran family bought the Wahroonga home in the late 1960s.
On 4996sqm, the landmark estate is the product of several acquisitions made by Greta and her late husband Doug.
The 1899 home was built by English architect Howard Joseland in the Arts and Crafts Federation style. It was transformed into its current form in 1996 after the family enlisted Clive Lucas to undertake an award-winning restoration.
The residence has five bedrooms and retains period features such as decorative ceilings, wooden stairs and stained windows. It also features grand spaces including a dining room and billiards room, as well as a character kitchen, butler’s pantry and wide verandas
Redleaf enjoys dual street access, five lock up garages and sprawling grounds, as well as the potential to add a swimming pool. There is a secondary house with a further three bedrooms.
Ken Jacobs, Christie’s International’s Darren Curtis said despite launching the property during COVID-19, there was plenty of interest from cashed up buyers.
“The significance of the estate meant that it could create is own market as buyers knew that if they missed out, there was not going to be another one like it,” he said.
Mr Curtis said the sale was underpinned by strong confidence the prestige market has seen in the past few months.
“We’ve seen strong demand particularly from expats returning home and looking to take advantage of the weak Australia dollar,” he said.
The Moran family own some of Sydney’s finest properties including a Gothic Revival home called Swifts in Darling Point and Juniper Hall in Paddington. The family oversees one of Australia’s largest nursing home groups with a strong focus on Sydney.
The sale comes as former Young and Rubicam chief creative officer Jonathan Teo prepares to take his Northbridge home to auction next month with McGrath’s Rose Farina. The hillside home is described as a “Zen oasis” and has been owned by Mr Teo for the past 16 years after he sold his former home in Tamarama to actor Toni Colette.
Mr Teo, who took three years to find the Northbridge property, said it almost felt like it was in a different part of Sydney.
“This place reminds me of Avalon and Palm Beach but we’re so close to the city,” he said,
The creative whiz is now after a family home with a large garage he can convert into an art studio. He was mostly recently an artist in Berlin at the invitation of the German government.
