On Sunday, Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals hosted the Houston Texans in their much-anticipated week 10 game. The Texans, led by their rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud, entered the game as heavy road underdogs but managed to cause a major upset on the weekend. Furthermore, Stroud continued his impressive rookie campaign with another 300-plus passing yards game.
In the game, Stroud completed 23 of his 39 pass attempts for 356 yards and a touchdown. He also used his legs to register one more touchdown. Stroud had great help in the ground game as the Texans running back Devin Singletary carried the rock 30 times for 150 yards and 1 touchdown while averaging 5 yards per attempt.
On the other side, the Bengals went toe-to-toe with the Texans till the end as their quarterback Joe Burrow registered 367 total yards and 2 touchdowns. Burrow spread the ball across the field, resulting in two receivers registering 100-plus receiving yards. But his two interceptions proved to be costly as it eventually cost them the game.
In the end, the Texans managed to cause an upset in Cincinnati as they defeated the Bengals 30-27 on the back of a game-winning field goal. With that victory, the Houston-based football team improved to 5-4 and already has more victories than the entire 2022 regular season.
The Texans have been very impressive so far as they managed to defeat multiple big teams, including the Bengals. One of the main reasons for their remarkable turnaround is their rookie QB C.J. Stroud, who has given a new life to his team.
In the ongoing NFL season, Stroud has completed 61.6% of his pass attempts for 2,625 passing yards and 15 touchdowns while throwing only 2 interceptions. He is currently the favorite to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year award by a landslide. Besides, he is also in the MVP conversation.
