Sporting power couple Luke Egan and Jessica Yates have stuck with the Sutherland Shire, securing their next renovation project at Burraneer after selling in Cronulla.
Egan, a former pro surfer, and Yates, a Fox Sports presenter, have spent $3.5m on the tightly held Morris family home, which was sold for the first time in six decades.
The property, marketed as being “ripe for total refurbishment”, sits on a 1210sq m block of land, just a few rows back from the water.

“Create a luxury family estate or land bank for the future,” the marketing from Chris Burke & Co agent David Kennedy suggested. It settled this week, so there’s no signs of any plans yet.
Of course, the couple did the former with their recently sold Cronulla home, which fetched $5.5m pre-auction over the summer.
They had paid $1,425,000 for the Wanda Beach property nine years earlier. They got rid of the original classic beachside bungalow, replacing its with a designer property with pool, which they completed around 2018.
It had four bedrooms, four bathrooms, and a home office on its 625sq m Links Ave holding. There was also a saltwater pool with cabana.
The Shire was a top performer in the December quarter according to CoreLogic’s Pain & Gain report, which calculated that 96 per cent of its sales were profitable. The median profit was $450,000, which sat above the $390,000 Sydney-wide median profit, which came from the 91 per cent of profit takers.
But it might have lost its lustre, according to the Autumn 2023 Hotspotting Price Predictor Index report by commentator Terry Ryder. Of the Shire suburbs on his list, just three are rising, 10 are plateauing and two were in decline.
Yates has been a presenter on Fox Sports for over 15 years.
She is the face of Fox Sports V8 Supercar and F1 coverage as well as hosting NRL game-day coverage on Fox League.
Egan is one of Australia’s most famous professional surfers, having competed on the world stage for more than 25 years. He was world number two in 2000 and was consistently ranked in the top five.
He continues to coach the world’s best surfers in the World Surf League.
