Why does it always seem like people make poor choices? To be quite frank, it is none of our business with whom someone dates, but it does seem that it makes it difficult for people to pull for others when they’re involved in a romance that’s dangerous. Sure, we all whine about our husbands and significant others not putting the laundry in the right place when he puts it away or putting the baby’s onesie on backward when he changes him or her. But that’s all right because we are safe and happy and loved. It’s none of our business, but when someone is involved with a man who beats her up, it’s difficult to cheer on that relationship. When Chris Brown famous beat up Rihanna back in 2009 in the midst of a domestic dispute, the entire world turned on Brown and supported Rihanna.
When she made the decision to begin dating her ex again in 2013, people were not so quick to support her decisions. It was just another case of a woman going back to a man that everyone knows is never going to change (I’m not saying people cannot change, just that statistically it’s unlikely) knowing that she’s going to end up hurt – probably literally – again. The heart wants what it wants (thanks Selena Gomez) and we can’t help that, but we can choose not to issue our support. That said, a collaboration between the former lovers has been released. The couple sang the duet together at some point in 2014 and now it’s been released, and we don’t think it’s a good thing. Is it ever a good thing to work with someone with whom you were once romantically involved and then estranged from after he assaulted you? We think not, but that doesn’t seem to have stopped the famous singers from getting together to record a song by the name of, “Put it Up,” in which they exchange very raunchy lyrics.
Here’s hoping this song being released does not stir up any old feelings of happiness and love between the two; they’re better off apart.
