The London lift that must have the best view of any elevator in the city

Lifts tend to be boring - you stare at a metal wall for a bit, then you get out. If you're lucky, there's some tinny music playing from a prehistoric speaker too. But one Central London lift has incredible views. It's located inside a shopping centre and is a real hidden gem you wouldn't expect

Lifts tend to be boring - you stare at a metal wall for a bit, then you get out. If you're lucky, there's some tinny music playing from a prehistoric speaker too.

But one Central London lift has incredible views. It's located inside a shopping centre and is a real hidden gem you wouldn't expect to find there.

Located at One New Change shopping centre, the lift rises up to a free rooftop garden. As you ascend, you'll get gorgeous views of St Paul's Cathedral.

A TikTok shared by user @julestaylorinlondon revealed the view to Londoners and they couldn't get enough. She wrote: "Best part, it’s free.

"The lift at One New Change leads to a rooftop restaurant and bar at the top of the lift, and free views of the Cathedral." The video quickly gathered 13.5k views and nearly 2,000 likes.

At the top of the shopping centre, One New Change has a rooftop terrace that's also free to visit. It offers seriously impressive views of St Paul's Cathedral.

From the roof, you can also spot several other London landmarks including the London Eye and the City. The free viewing platform also shares a roof with the Madison Rooftop Bar and Restaurant.

They've got a huge range of food on offer. For starters, pick between dishes like fried chicken, ceviche tostadas, or chickpea falafel with houmous and roasted veg.

For main courses, they've got duck pasta, lobster, and steaks from the grill. Desserts include a Mississippi mud pie, deep-fried apple pie, and pumpkin spice panna cotta.

Two courses at the rooftop spot will set you back £43, and three will cost £49. As a bonus, you'll get to see the view from the lift again when you head back down.
