Javier Hernandez was left out of Mexico’s squad for the World Cup in Qatar.
Chicharito has featured in the last three World Cups and is the country’s all-time top scorer.
The former Manchester United striker has scored 52 goals in 109 caps, netting in every tournament he has played in.
Why is Javier Hernandez not playing for Mexico?
Hernandez last played for Mexico in 2019 and since then he has not been called up to the squad.
This season, Chicharito has scored 15 goals and provided two assists in the MLS, proving that he can still find the back of the net.
But El Tri’s manager, Tata Martino, does not seem interested in reintroducing the country’s record goalscorer.

Martino said: “In the case of Chicharito, we are simply going with other centre forwards.
"We will try to choose the 26 players who are closest to our game.”
Those other forwards are Wolves’ Raul Jimenez, Feyenoord’s Santiago Gimenez, Henry Martin and Rogelio Funes Mori.
So, the 34-year-old Hernandez is down on the pecking order and despite calls for him to return to the team, Chicharito is absent at this year’s World Cup.
